Class
A baseball minor league, centered in the U.S.
Southeast, but now extending all the way from south
Georgia into
Ohio. Historically, the Sally League covered much the same territory as the
Southern League, but in smaller cities and towns, but it has now extended into traditional
International League and
Eastern League territory as well. Its geographic expansion somewhat resembles that of the
East Coast Hockey League. The SAL has historically been known colloquially as the "Sally League."
