Three Imaginary Boys as their first
LP in the
U.K. a few months earlier and Boys Don't Cry was all that and more...with the best of TIB as well as a few newer singles. The controversial "
Killing An Arab" single (based on
Camus'
The Stranger)
meant both strife and publicity ... radio stations and some stores thought it encouraged violent behavior toward the
arabic people - labels compromised by putting a sticker on the album making it clear killing arabs
just ain't cool. What troubled times.
