White Stripes (who seem to be
gaining popularity in the
worthwhile music scene, and
deservingly so. Quite a
mix of
styles on this album: the
folk influence is
evident on
track 2 ("
Hotel Yorba"), while other
songs have more of a
rock feel. Their
Beatles influence is also
heard on
several White Blood Cells tracks, and
track 9, "
We're Going to Be Friends" seems
inspired by the
songs of the
50's, when
rock was very
young. And
hats off to
Meg White, the
girl drummer. That's
a rare thing nowadays.
